Honey Girl Organics

About Honey Girl Organics’ Founders:

“Anthony Maxfield

I keep bees as a hobby here in Hawaii, and originally developed these crèmes for my wife, Gwen. One day during the honey harvest, after I had squeezed the honey out of the beeswax cappings, she noticed how smooth my hands were. Later she asked me if I thought I could make a lotion that would leave her skin in as good a condition as my hands were. After experimenting for about a year, I found that when beeswax was emulsified in extra virgin olive oil, the skin would rapidly drink it in and feel silky and nourished.

We’ve been making these products for many years and been giving them to our friends and families to use. Everyone always comments how great they are.

Gwen Maxfield

I was born and raised the child of show biz parents in Los Angeles, so make-up, beauty and health have always been important to me. Later I attended More University and studied Lifestyles & Communications. It was there that I met my future husband and where we both later attained our PhDs.

Being the proud mother of four young men and having been an avid student of health for many years, I have learned that the quality of what you put into your body as well as what you put on your skin is extremely important. I now eat mostly organic raw fruits and vegetables and use mostly organic and natural products on my skin.

Christina Sirlin

A native of Germany, I moved to the Philadelphia area as a child with my family.

I’ve always been interested in natural curatives, which led me to become a Chiropractor in NY. Interested in a better climate and proximity to More U., I moved to Hawaii and came across these crèmes. After using them with extraordinary results I began recommending them to people across the country. Many of my personal friends and clients have expressed great delight as well as relief to come across such effective crèmes whose unique ingredients are all natural and organic.”

honey girl organics facial scrub

Facial Scrub

Honey Girl Organics’ Description:

Rinse with lukewarm water and remove excess Facial Scrub with a washcloth. Follow the Facial Scrub with one of our moisturizers such as Face & Eye Cream or Night Cream. Our Facial Scrub may be used once or twice per week.

Ingredients: Organic aloe gel, organic coconut butter, super fine granulated cane sugar, Raw Pupukea Honey, organic diatomaceous earth, papaya and pineapple enzymes, essential oil.

Hive ingredients are harvested from our holistically managed beehives.”

My Description & Thoughts:

I love the ingredients, I love the ultra rich texture, I love how gently it exfoliates, I LOVE this facial scrub. I have kept it in my shower and have used it in place of my other facial soaps and cleansers for a while. I believe that this facial scrub is perfect for my skin in the winter months. Normally my skin is oily and hard to manage (during the warmer months), but my skin tends to crave more moisture than normal during the colder months.

After I use this product in the shower, I lightly since the grittiness off and what remains is a sufficient amount of moisture–so that my skin doesn’t need me to follow up with a moisturizer or serum. So for me its really been 1 products in one: a cleanser, exfoliator and moisturizer.

I would highly recommend this scrub, as it does great things for my skin and I’ve really enjoyed using it. It’s especially a great product for those with dry and troubled skin.

I’ll say this (in advance) about all of these skin products. The use of raw honey is a big deal to me. I’m a huge fan of the healing effects of raw honey. In raw honey, all of the nutrients that nature intended to be in there still remain. Heating honey will kill those helpful nutrients that are so helpful to skin. Good job, Honey Girl! 🙂

honey girl organics review super skin food

Super Skin Food

Honey Girl Organics’ Description:

“This rich and nourishing organic skincare formula is the best available for dry, cracked, and rough skin. Our healing formula includes royal jelly and Vitamin E to deeply penetrate and nourish worn and damaged areas like elbows and knees.

Ingredients: Organic extra virgin olive oil, Beeswax with pollen & propolis, Raw Pupukea Honey, purified water, Vitamin E, oil of rosewood and other essential oils, Royal Jelly.

Hive ingredients are harvested from our holistically managed beehives.”

My Description & Thoughts:

Dense & robust, a little bit of this skin food goes a long way. I use it after cleansing as a moisturizer. Contrary to what you may think, beeswax will not clog pores. Since it is such a rich concoction, I think it’s a perfect remedy for dry or flakey skin. If you have oily/combination skin like I do, experiment with using just a tiny amount (smaller than a dime size). I’ve found that this is all it takes for my entire face to be adequately quenched.

The ingredients are simple, pure and gentle on blemished skin. Often, troubled skin needs gentle facial products, as chemical ridden products can often exacerbate the irritation. Products like this one, with a honey base, are often just what problem skin needs to heal.

I’d recommend this product to literally anyone! Any kind of skin could benefit from this skin food–just in different amounts.

honey girl organics rejuvenating mask

Rejuvenating Mask

Honey Girl Organics’ Description:

“Enhance collagen production and stimulate new cell growth with Honey Girl Organics’ Rejuvenating Mask. It softens and moisturizes while providing the skin with the nutrition it needs to look and feel its best. This organic skincare Mask is good for all skin types.

Directions: Cleanse the face and leave slightly moist. Gently apply the Rejuvenating Mask, avoiding delicate areas around the eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10-15 minutes while relaxing. Wash off with lukewarm water. Pat skin dry and apply a moisturizer like our Face and Eye Cream or Night Cream.

Ingredients: Raw Pupukea Honey, French green clay, organic diatomaceous earth, Hawaiian blue green algae, Royal Jelly, propolis.

Hive ingredients are harvested from our holistically managed beehives.”

My Description & Thoughts:

I love the routine of applying this mask and then drinking tea & relaxing for 15 minutes before washing it off. The consistency of this mask is ideal–its rich enough to stay put on my face and it doesn’t flake off like some masks do.

It seems like the clay and algae really clarify and detoxifying my skin and the honey keeps the mask from drying out my skin. I really don’t even need to follow up this mask with a moisturizer. Skin is fresh and clean and healthy feeling after using it.

Another great way to use this mask is to keep the jar in the shower and then apply it to skin after the warm shower water has opened up the pores on your face. This helps the mask to soak into pores better and be even more effective.

I recommend it to everyone, regardless of skin type. It will work wonders on the texture and moisture of any kind of skin.
