Advocare Supplement Review

I have heard of Advocare before–and known of Advocare users for a few years now. However, I have never implemented them into my own exercise routine.

Taste-wise, the Spark drink mix, Slam Shot, Rehydrate Gel and Rehydrate Powder all taste pleasant, but you can tell that they are not real flavors. I eat so many fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis that my palate can pick out artificial flavors and ingredients like these pretty easily.

Performance-wise, the Spark mix does indeed provide an energy boost and can be used as a replacement for your pre-workout cup of coffee of caffeinated tea. The Slam shot is a quick, convenient way to get a caffeine kick that you can feel. Both the Rehydrate energy gel and powder gave me the feeling of replenishment after a workout. With all of that said, I find that many supplements such as these and similar to these give you the instant gratification because they act quickly via artificial ingredients–not from organic, whole food ingredients. That is what I take issue with. There are a multitude of organic sources that can aid in prepping your body for exercise and also helping it recover. Therefore, brands that choose to use ingredients that are less than conscious of organic, pure ingredients don’t get my vote.

I find that many individuals use a products or supplement because it “works.” Yet, they do not even look at the ingredients. As for me, I want to feel good about what I’m buying and what I’m putting into my body.

Even though I am an optimist, I always strive to make my reviews honest and real. That said, I love the idea of these supplements, but in all actuality, I can’t stand behind the ingredients. Many of them are not recognizable and none of them are a “whole food” source–like chia seed and tea leaves, which are in some organic pre workout and post workout drinks that I love.
