Fitfluential: About Time Protein:
An a health geek for many years, I have been lucky enough to try a vast array of different protein powders, supplements, etc. To be frank, I am a bit of a supplement snob. I expect excellent quality both in regards to the ingredients being organic as well as being raw (at least the majority of them). Because of these high standards I’ve set for what goes into my body, I have to say that About Time protein products are about middle of the road.
To touch on taste–the bars & protein powders all taste okay, but not totally awesome. Organic and raw (or cold-processed) protein powders have a more wholesome, fresh taste to them. They taste less synthetic and closer to the source. Since About Time products are not organic & raw, they don’t taste as real to me.
Here’s what I do like about them:
-Sweetened with stevia
-Don’t taste bad
-Convenience provided via the single serving packs and bars (good for traveling)
-The idea of protein pancakes (not a new one–but it’s a great way to satisfy a comfort food craving with a protein rich meal)
They could improve in my eyes by:
-Using organic ingredients
-Adding superfoods to increase the health benefits
-Using all or mostly all raw ingredients (this would also improve the fresh taste)
-Eliminate the usage of casein (which is often highly processed and acidic to the body)
-Decreasing the carb content in the pancake mix
