Conscious Box Sample Box Review

I discovered Conscious Box when I was still a college student, finishing up my bachelor’s degree in North Texas. At the time, Conscious Box provides an excellent means for me to become acquainted with a big range of natural and organic beauty, skin and nutrition products. I have always been happy with & impressed by the variety in their boxes. In one box, you may get a deodorant sample and a seaweed bar. Heck, you could really go crazy and apply your deodorant while eating the seaweed bar! 🙂 The only thing I’ve noticed that I’d improve is that not all products inclosed are organic. They seem to be varying in quality as far as ingredients used.

Conscious Box sent me this plant-based version of their box for me to take a look at and try. My favorites in the bundle are the Chickpeas made by Saffron Road, Green Superfood Bar made by Amazing Grass &  the Bamboo Towels made by NaturezWay. I loved the idea of the Tiny Tea, but couldnt dive deeper ingredient-wise on their website because the info was hard to locate (that’s a instant turn-off for me! I dig transparency). The Back to Nature juice would be more appealing if it was not from concentrate, unpasteurized (requiring refridgetation) and contained organic ingredients.

Ingredients

I really wanted to love the Vaska detergent–I checked out their website and saw this:

“Made from plant based surfactants and essential oils. NO nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), NO chlorine, NO phosphates, NO optical brighteners, NO animal products, NO EPA priority pollutants, NO dyes, and NO chemical thickeners.

Water/Aqua, Alcohols C9-11 Ethoxylated, Alkyl Polyglucoside, Surfactant Copolymer, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Potassium Cocoate, Fragrance/Parfum, Methylchlorisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.”

While I appreciate that they do not use several harsh chemicals, I am apprehensive about the hard-to-pronounce ingredients. Since I make my own very simple detergent at home with three ingredients, reading that ingredient list was not appealing to me. the lavender provided my clothes a pleasant aroma, though!

As I predicted, I was impressed with the variety in this Conscious Box, but would just ask for better in regards to quality of the products. I strive for the best of the best!
