Be Natural Organics Skincare Review
About:
“What We Choose to Use, Avoid, and Why
As the dangers caused from toxins in personal care products become more evident, it is important that we educate ourselves on the toxicity levels in every product we use. This will enable us to make informed decisions about what we apply to our skin, and introduce into our bodies.
At Be Natural Organics, we want our customers to be armed with the necessary information to ensure that you make the right choices for your skin. That is why we have each of our products rated for toxicity levels by an independent environmental organization.
Along with knowledge on the overall toxicity levels in skin care products, we think it is important to understand the various types of toxins. For this reason, we have included a list below of the two main types of toxins and their effects on our bodies:
Synthetic toxins – Most tend to accumulate in our bodies and attribute to our “Chemical Body Burden”. Numerous studies have shown that synthetic toxins accumulate in our organs and fatty tissues and eventually lower the body’s resistance to fight disease. Two of the main synthetic toxins used in skin care products are parabens and sulfates. Parabens, found in over 90% of skin care products, collect in the fatty tissues in breasts and have been connected with breast tumors. Sulfates accumulate in the brain, heart, liver and lungs and have shown similar detrimental effects. At Be Natural Organics, we ensure our products are free of all harmful synthetic toxins. For more information, please see our “Articles” link.
Natural toxins – These are very different than their synthetic counterparts. Fruit and vegetable enzymes, some essential oils and other botanical actives may have a toxicity rating. However, these natural enzymes dissipate into the skin, fulfill their purpose (for example, to exfoliate or stimulate collagen), and become neutralized by the body. They do not carry with them any long-term negative effects. Be Natural Organics will use various natural enzymes to achieve specific results.
Why Be Natural Organics Oils are Superior:
Be Natural Organics ingredients are produced from premium-grade botanicals using a proprietary cold press manufacturing technology. This special process gently extracts oils from natural bio-masses (botanicals) using nominal pressure, resulting in cooler processing temperatures than extrusion processes and without any distillation, harsh chemicals or synthetic ‘stripping.’ In fact, this process is certified organic.
Be Natural Organics botanical oils are exceptionally pure, potent and nutritionally rich.
Other manufacturing processes use solvents or high-heat expeller presses. Worse, some claim to have a “cold” process but sill generate damaging temperatures. The nutritional content of oils vary greatly based upon the manufacturing process.
Be Natural Organics oils are processed under very low temperatures in an inert atmosphere during extraction and bottling to ensure that our all-natural and certified organic products retain their full spectrum of concentrated antioxidants and other valuable phytochemicals (naturally occurring plant constituents) for optimal nutritional benefits.
The result is botanical ingredients exhibiting unprecedented nutritional concentrations, purity and functionality.
At Be Natural Organics we are committed to providing a luxurious product line that surpasses the competition by omitting dangerous synthetic toxins and maintaining high-performing results. We are extremely proud to have achieved our goal and continue to develop new, clean products.
We are also committed to educating consumers on the importance of healthy skin care, and to be a driving force in the removal of all dangerous toxins used in skin care products today. Towards that end, we have developed a toxin reference card for you to take with you when you go shopping. Please print this card and put it in your wallet as our gift to you.”
Here is a bit more info about Be Natural Organics that touches on these products in regards to the word “organic”:
“Most of our ingredients are certified organic. We have just now started marking our certified organic ingredients with an askerisk. We have our products rated on skindeep.com and are now in the process of becoming NOP certified.”
Elderberry Balancing Mist
B Natural Organics’ Description:
“Our Elderberry Balancing Mist is created to heal, nourish, and bring oily and acne-prone skin into ph balance. This prepares the skin for optimal absorption of serums and moisturizers. Peppermint and tea tree hydrosol work to control oil production in the skin. Elderberry, pomegranate, and comfrey soothe and heal acne-prone skin. Niacin provides tremendous anti-acne benefits.
Ingredients:
Peppermint and tea hydrosol, populous tremoloides (aspen bark) extract, aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, hyaluronic acid, elderberry, pomegranate and comfrey extracts, niacin, apple pectin, mangosteen, rose hip and bamboo extract.”
My Description & Thoughts:
As suggested, I spray this mist onto my face before applying a serum. You can instantly feel a bit of a tingle, or light zing. It feels like it helps the serum to target acne and blemishes while moisturizing. It works well after application in keeping facial oil at bay.
I’ve also been using this more like a toner, one that I use in the middle of the day to control the oil on my face. It works well for that use also. I like how the ingredients are a long list of plants, most of which are organic (as I discussed above in the intro).
For skin like mine, I like having a product like this around for days when my skin is problematic. It makes me feel like I have something to combat those problems with. I’d recommend this to individuals who are searching for a good product to help balance their oily and problematic skin. You can use this in combination with your current moisturizer to target and heal acne.
Daily Botanical Enzyme Peel
B Natural Organics’ Description:
“Botanical Enzymes have been called the most important skin care agents of the decade. The active enzyme used in our Daily Botanical Enzyme Peel loosens dead cells from the skin’s surface by dissolving stubborn glue-like substances that refuse to release dead skin cells through normal cleansing. These cells create a barrier for proper absorption of moisturizers and serums, so getting rid of these dead cells means that fresher cells are exposed resulting in optimal absorption of products.
Ingredients:
Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) juice *, lactic acid (plant-based), populous tremoloides (aspen bark) extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) extract, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) extract, zingiber officinale (ginger) extract, calendula officinalis (calendula) extract.”
My Description & Thoughts:
This is one of the few peels I have ever tried in my journey with organic products–so I was extra intrigued about this one!
On the bottle, they recommend that this peel is applied using a cotton ball. Even though that method might be less messy, I prefer to use clean fingertips. That way, you don’t waste any product on the cotton ball. As I applied it bit by bit to my face, I noticed a bit of a tingly, very tolerable stinging sensation. It was a good, clarifying feeling. The packaging even suggests that if, for some reason, you don’t find that tolerable, wash off soon after. Whereas if you’re like me, and find it to be a rejuvenating feeling, you can keep it on for several times.
It feels and looks like this product works well. It helps revive the top layer of skin and leaves it looking fresh and glowing. I find it unique enough of a product that I would consider buying it again to have a product on hand that can tackle my top layer of dead skin. I’d recommend this enzyme peel to anyone who has skin that requires bi-daily washes to keep skin clean and fresh feeling.
AHA Facial Wash
B Natural Organics’ Description:
“This highly effective foaming cleanser contains 10% glycolic acid to help destroy acne-causing bacteria. Removes skin’s outer layer, allowing easier release of clogged pores, excess sebum and debris. Helps reduce skin discoloration from previous acne and encourages pore refinement for a flawless complexion. Your skin will be left clean with a more renewed and even skin tone.
Ingredients:
Aqua (distilled water), olea europaea (olive oil) castile, glycolic acid, vegetable glycerin, rosa rubiginosa (rose hip) seed oil, ascophyllum nodosum (seaweed) extract, fortunella swingle (kumquat) oil.”
My Description & Thoughts:
I found this cleanser to be gentle and thorough at the same time. The consistency of the mixture is a liquidy-gelly mixture and lathers up a little bit, but not a ton, like you’d imagine a liquid soap to do. I think, though, that it is gentle because it does not suds up a lot. To get a better clean, I use this product with a plant-fiber facial exfoliating buff or round (I use a Dew Puff).
I think this is a facial wash that would be suitable for a wide range of skin types, as it gentle enough for sensitive skin and can be thorough enough to clean well on an oily face as well. I’d recommend it!
BHA Serum
B Natural Organics’ Description:
“This serum contains the active ingredient beta-hydroxy acid, providing powerful anti-bacterial properties and anti-oxidants to stimulate new cell production while protecting your face in an oil-free base. Deeply penetrates skin to lift debris from clogged pores. Dissolves facial oil all day long as it rejuvenates your skin. Keeps a professional matte finish for oily skin.”
Ingredients:
Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) juice, purified water (and) camellia sinensis (green tea) extract, ethanol (natural grain alcohol), salicylic acid, sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid), populous tremoloides (aspen bark) extract, xanthan gum, citrus paradisi (grapefruit) extract, bambusa arundinacea (bamboo) extract, zingiber officinale (ginger) extract, vitamin C-ester.”
My Description & Thoughts:
I’m used to serums that are pure and comprised or organic, hydrating oils. “Oil free” is something I DO NOT look for in a facial product. The myth that oily skin shouldn’t be treated with oil is one that I’d like to squash. Just like our bodies, which need fats to thrive, our skin needs organic, pure oils in moderation as well. High quality, plant based oils are some of the best healers for skin.
All of that said, I DO like this product a lot. I would classify it as more of a skin elixir instead of a serum (simply because in my mind, serum often means a rich combo of oils). I think this product is good at healing skin, but not adding a ton of moisture and hydration to it. That said, I have used it in combination with an organic oil serum and found that it heals and adds moisture well.
I’d recommend this product to be used in combination with an organic oil serum. Together, I think they would help skin and keep it moist.
