About Morrocco Method:

Their philosophy began with one simple question: “Why compromise your health with chemical products when you can achieve radiant beauty with safe, all-natural hair care?” (I couldn’t agree more with the sentiment of this statement, which prompted me to do a whole Morrocco Method Review with the hope of introducing you to this brand.)

Morrocco Method International has provided the world’s finest in raw, vegan, and Paleo hair care for more than 50 years. All of their products are sulfate-free, gluten-free, and free of synthetic chemicals.

Each product, from their line of all-natural shampoos and conditioners to their natural henna hair color, is created using a synergistic blend of live, wildcrafted ingredients that detoxify and nourish your hair and scalp. It’s the ideal place to start to begin detoxing and enjoying beautiful, naturally luxurious hair. You’re reading: Morrocco Method Review: Natural Hair Care.

The Morrocco Method product line contains 5 different liquid shampoos that correspond to the 5 elements. Each one is formulated for a specific hair goal (thickening, strengthening, beautifying, lengthening, and root work). For instance, the Earth Essence Shampoo (this formula caters to hair thickeness) is elevated with a mix of essential oils, french clays, and botanical proteins that rejuvenate and detoxify the hair and scalp. Earth Essence shampoo specifically utilizes montmorillonite clay powder. Morrocco Method’s Earth Essence Shampoo, along with the other 4 shampoos in the five elements line is sulfate-free, and has been formulated to benefit overall hair health, help hair to bounce back from damage, and acts as a healthy reset.

Representing the element of Earth, this natural shampoo is raw and filled with the purest, hand-picked ingredients, making it great for normal to oily hair types. For best results, we suggest rotating all 5 shampoos.

All of our natural shampoos are raw, vegan, paleo, sulfate-free, gluten-free and non-foaming.

The History of Morrocco Method

Anthony Morrocco shares with us the incredible history of Morrocco Method, the world’s most natural hair care brand. Anthony talks about how he got started working as a hairdresser at NYC’s famous Kenneth salon, to becoming one of the top 5 hair colorists working with the ultra-rich and famous clients in NYC in the 1960’s. After that experience, Anthony realized the need for a 100% truly natural line of hair care products. This led Anthony Morrocco to create his first products. Morrocco Method as a concept was conceived at this point.

The Founder

Founder Anthony Morrocco is a pioneer in the natural hair care world. He has experience styling for icons such as Jackie Onassis Kennedy. Too. his experience and knowledge come from decades of traveling internationally and exercising his curiosity around potent plant ingredients.

Some Frequently Asked Questions FAQ About MM

-What are the instructions for the shampoo to perform its best?

Ideal shampooing with these unique shampoos requires washing twice. The first wash loosens flakes, dust, dead skin cells, and excess oils from the hair and scalp while simultaneously flushing most of it from your hair. The second wash allows the ingredients of the shampoo to penetrate and benefit the scalp. You can also nourish the hair with a longer scalp massage.

-Do you have any tips?

Dilute! MM shampoos are very concentrated. Be sure to dilute the shampoos 1:1 with water for easier application.

Do a first wash: Apply shampoo to wet hair. Massage it in lightly to hair and scalp. Note: it won’t lather. Rinse. Do a second wash: Apply shampoo again, massage a bit longer to stimulate blood flow to scalp & hair. Rinse again. Follow up with your favorite Morrocco Method conditioner, if necessary, for added hydration and oil reduction.

My hair always feels oily after using?

My favorite way to get around the oily feeling after shampooing is to one, make sure that you’re doing the double cleanse. Then, use the nylon and boar bristle brush in the shower during the second shampoo. It might sound like it would encourage breakage or like it’s not a good ideal on wet hair; I think there is a myth that brushing wet hair can be damaging. Brushing wet or dry hair alike can break hair. It has nothing to with moisture. Wet hair actually allows the brush to glide more easily over your hair follices, especially when it’s coated with the oil-rich shampoos.

How often should I rotate the shampoos?

Ideal scenario is that you rotate all 5 MM shampoos each time you shampoo your hair, however often that is for you. Typically, because of your scalp detoxifying from previous hair products, it’s not abnormal to have customers of MM shampooing every day initially, and then every other day, and so on, as your body detoxifies adequately.

Unlike most generic, traditional shampoos that strip your hair of its necessary film, MM shampoos will keep the innate ecosystem of your hair intact. So, washing every day or at your ideal frequency is acceptable to have these product work their magic. The main thing is to pay attention to your hair, scalp, and adjust as needed as time goes on.

Morrocco Method Review: Natural Hair Care

I’ve been using Morrocco Method products on my hair for about 3 years now. Before beginning MM products, I had a pretty decent head of hair length-wise, but it was thinner around my temples and didn’t always feel nourished. I also had a dry scalp and dandruff after a few days without washing.

I’m so glad that I added in Morrocco Method products; there’s been a noticeable difference in my hair. One of the biggest differences between Morrocco Method shampoos and others (even natural & organic ones) is that because they are raw and botanical based, they are minimally foamy.

Though this is an adjustment for some people, it actually helped my dry scalp to have their shampoo perform this way. Also, I hardly ever need much conditioner.

Morrocco Method Rituals for Hair Growth

Making sure to shampoo twice (I know, sounds extra, but it’s worth it) makes all the difference.

Using the Mixed Nylon/Boar Bristle Brush in the shower while washing out both the shampoo and conditioner. I noticed that doing this made a big difference in getting the products evenly distributed through hair and then thoroughly rinsed out.

Doing a weekly hair mask with the Zen Detox powder. This is big for the first few weeks of using Morrocco Method products! I use the Zen Detox product and then mix it with Apple Cider Vinegar, leave in for about 10-20 minutes, then rinse out in the shower and shampoo + condition like normal. -Apply a Scalp Elixir before shampooing. I typically massage it in and let them sit for a few minutes beforehand. This ritual really helps stimulate the hair follicles at the root level.

-Use the Scalp Massager daily. This is as routine to me as brushing my teeth! It only takes 30 seconds or so and helps bring blood flow to the scalp and stimulate lymph movement in the head and neck. Doing this is a huge help if you are looking to grow hair.

-Cut hair according to the Lunar Hair Chart. If this idea is new to you, check out more on their website under their Lunar Hair section. I trim/cut my own hair at home and have for about 10 years now. Since my goal is to thicken my hair, I cut on thickening days and alternate that goal with root work days to keep the foundation of my roots healthy and thriving.

Where are you at in your hair journey? I’d love to hear what is working for others that are seeking a more natural way to take care of their hair. I hope that you found my Morrocco Method Review helpful and to the point. Feel free to leave any questions or comments for me below!

Morrocco Method Likes Dislikes

Across the board, I love Morrocco Method products and they have completely changed my haircare routine and hair health to integrate them on a weekly basis. The only thing worth mentioning in regards to dislikes is that this style of shampoo is so different than what you’re likely used to, so it will take a bit to adjust.

Diluting the formula can help it perform as needed, or using it as is when you need a deep clean. As I mentioned above, I love using the boar bristle brush in the shower alongside the products; I find my hair feels and looks the best after it dries when I do it this way.
