Superfeet Run Comfort Women’s Insoles Review
I’ll start off by admitting that I’m not generally an insole user, but kombucha on the other hand… Before Superfeet, I had never worn insoles in my shoes. This is mainly because I had read somewhere that wearing minimalist footwear was key.
While I do think there is a place for barefoot/minimalist shoe work, I have experienced some pain relief from wearing these insoles. I can’t speak to running more than 20 miles a week in this insoles, but they are well suited for the amount of running in a typical week of Crossfit (which typically includes 200m, 400m, 800m or 1600m runs).
I suppose some people might say that insoles relieve pain because you have weak feet & tendons/ligament around the ankle (Yoga might also help!). In addition, perhaps my gait/stride are not yet perfect. But, when I really think about it, I don’t think they are ever going to be perfect. These insoles can act as an aid for me to avoid discomfort and potential injury. Just like aids can be useful in other modalities of fitness, I see these insoles as an aid.
I do think that you can also work to strengthen your musculature and stabilizers from the hips down so that you’re not relying so heavily on insoles. But, I’ve been an athlete my whole life and I’m not there yet, I’m trying to take away the shame or guilt with looking to an aid for help.
Superfeet Run Comfort Women’s Insoles: What I’ve Noticed
What I’ve noticed doing running/movement with these insoles is that my foot generally feels more stable. It’s not an overly cushy, unfamiliar, weird feeling that throws off your gait. Instead, it feels like just the right amount of support. I like them enough at this point that I move them from one shoe to the next as I rotate shoes (I have several pairs of athletic shoes that I rotate).
If you’re curious and maybe even skeptical like I was, I’d say it’s worth trying Superfeet. They even help you select the insole that’s right for your routine/habits and what you’re looking to gain, given your unique feet. Definitely reach out to them with any questions if you’re wondering what insole is right for you. They were very helpful for me!
