VitaFive Gummy Vitamins
Overall Rating:
About the Vitafive “Sleep” gummies:
Melatonin gummy: Melatonin is a hormone our body naturally produces to regulate sleep. Unfortunately, there are many environmental and lifestyle factors that can disturb the release of melatonin and consequently, our sleep pattern. Melatonin is not known to be addictive and researchers believe it to be one of the safest sleep-aids. Supplementing with melatonin may help you fall asleep faster, wake less frequently during the night and get your circadian rhythm (wake and sleep cycle) back on track.
Vitamin D gummy: The Vitamin D provided in our gummies is in the D3 form, also known as cholecalciferol, due to the body’s ability to absorb D3 better than any other form. When our skin synthesizes Vitamin D from UV light, it is produced in the D3 form as well. Despite our body’s ability to synthesize Vitamin D, deficiencies in this vitamin are common. Vitamin D is naturally present in very few foods and becomes increasingly difficult to synthesize during times of limited sun exposure. This fat-soluble vitamin is crucial for bone health, calcium absorption, serum phosphorous concentration, immunity and brain functions (like memory, mood and neurotransmitter synthesis).
Multivitamin gummy: The multivitamin provides a variety of vitamins and minerals to help provide the nutrients our body requires on a daily basis. A multivitamin is NOT intended to replace a healthy diet. The purpose of a multivitamin is to supplement your healthy diet with additional vitamins and minerals that you may not be consuming on a daily basis and in the amounts required by the body. Even for those following the most healthful diet, it is nearly impossible to meet your vitamin and mineral nutritional needs every day, and increasingly so for those who restrict calories for weight loss, are picky eaters, are recovering from an injury or illness, who skip meals, have food allergies, regularly drink alcohol, take certain medications (like antacids), have limited food variety, have a poor appetite and follow a restrictive diet (i.e. vegetarian, gluten-free, paleo, etc.).

My Thoughts:
I’m a huge advocate for getting your nutritional needs met through whole foods like fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and lean proteins. That said, I’m pretty open minded in regards to trying new ways to improve my overall well being.
Lately, getting enough high quality, uninterrupted sleep has been a struggle. I work out pretty hard on top of full work days and know I need the sleep–I just don’t always get it.
I was intrigued to try this sleep gummy pack and so far so good. Be it placebo effect or actual effectiveness, I found that I slept really hard and soundly the very first night I took these before bed. I woke up and felt like I had really rested my body.
I don’t particularly like that I’m eating a dose of sugar right before bed, especially since limiting the extra sugar in my diet is a focus of mine. I do understand that sort of comes with the territory of it being a gummy, though. In regards to taste, they are pretty dang delicious–you can’t really tell that they’re loaded with vitamins.
I see these gummies as a fun way to change up my every day routine and improve my sleep. It was a thoughtful little touch to put my name on every single packet, too. The idea of customizing a packet of vitamins to help you meet your goals is something I really love.
They’re not entirely organic (though they are gluten free), but they have helped me so far and that’s been nice!
