So I thought, add some delicious mixed frozen berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries) and voila!
What makes this smoothie special is its antioxidant & trace mineral content. Berries are known for their natural antioxidant capacity, while beets (in the root vegetable family contain nitric oxide. This plant compound ramps up blood flow in the body; thus promoting circulation, increased performance and oxygen delivery to muscles. In addition, the nitric oxide in beets helps enhance recovery from strenuous workouts.
In addition to the unique characteristic of berries & beets, this smoothie is easy to digest. Thus, it’s not energy expensive for your body for assimilate & utilize the carbohydrates found in this smoothie. Also, it’s inexpensive to make! Most grocery stores will have all of the ingredients to make.
