Only Protein Whey Protein Review

About Only Protein:

“Only Protein is the product of meeting three people’s needs.

Mike Rino is an avid mountain biker. Having mountain biked for some time, he realized that, after riding a substantial amount of time, he was losing muscle and began looking for a way to protect his hard-earned muscle. He needed a product that was easy to carry and use. Mike had been working in the packaging industry and saw the opportunity to package protein in a stick. This would be the answer to what he had been looking for with his long-distance biking.

Jesse Raddon is an avid hunter and works out daily. He needed a way to pack in a meal that was light and required very little space. As he and Mike came together, this was exactly what he had been looking for to take on his hunting trips. Jesse also trains daily and goes right from the gym to work. He didn’t want to pack a big container of protein powder for his post-workout drink, or put a single scoop of protein powder in a baggy so he could mix up his post- workout drink at the office. He loved the idea of a single-serving protein stick. This would give him the convenience he was looking for without the hassle or mess!!
Michelle had just returned from the Olympia—America’s premier bodybuilding and fitness competition—and was frustrated at the fact that she could not find a protein powder that could feed her muscle quickly, while also providing a sustained release of nutrients—and least, one that didn’t have fillers and artificial sweeteners. Anyone that knows Michelle knows that she is very passionate about health and wellness and trains daily. As she worked with people in the fitness industry and her other clients that were trying to reach their fitness goals, she could not find a product that she felt good about recommending. While in her son’s chiropractic office, she was holding a protein powder her son was using and began to complain about the ingredients. Mike was standing there and asked if she knew anything about protein powders and shared what he was working on.
Only Protein not only meets the needs of these three people, but also will meet the needs of the person on the go, without the hassle of blenders, measuring, or mess. We live in a hustle and bustle world and many do not get the nutrition that they need daily because they don’t have the time to fix something healthy. Whether you are rushing to get to work or are a mom getting children ready for school, there is no need to skip meals anymore. Just rip, pour, and enjoy!

We only use the highest quality ingredients in our products without the cheap fillers. The convenience of Only Protein is superior to most. Most whey protein is sold in large containers that, while perfect for home use, are hard to lug around during the work day. These little packets have the dream portability that an athlete, coach, businessperson, student, parent, etc. would find handy. I would toss one of these packets (unopened) into my tall blender bottle and commute like that, adding water when I’m ready to drink.
Taste-wise, the vanilla is my favorite. The mocha was a unique surprise (and delicious) and the chocolate is tasty in its own right. I just find that I often prefer vanilla over chocolate–vanilla is also more versatile to me.

In regards to the quality of the protein, this protein has most specs I like to see, aside from the fact that it’s been produced organically (and extra mystery ingredients). It’s a bit hard to tell. “No Chemical Additives” could suggest that it’s produced organically, but it’s unclear. My experience is that brands that do things organically will tell you that they do, as it costs them more money to produce products that way. Thus, they want to “brag” about it (not a bad thing in this case 🙂 ). I appreciate the gigantic list of “bad” ingredients that are not used. I especially like “no genetically modified ingredients,” “no antibiotics”. I’m hoping that this protein also is made without injecting the cows with hormones.
When you look at the actual ingredient list pictured above, I’m not a fan of seeing all the extra ingredients. They’re likely used to improve the texture or shelf life of the product, but I would rather have to refridgerate the product than have it contain those additives. The fact that theres not even an explanation of why these ingredients are in the product is a little alarming. I like transparency. If a brand stands behind their product, I’d like to see them justify all of their ingredients in terms of health. All in all, this whey protein beats some, but isn’t even close to tops.
That said, I have tried many organic whey proteins that are the next step up from this powder, driving me to give this protein a less-than-awesome rating. I do believe the convenience is a neat component of the product–& again, the quality is a bit better than average, but not great (and they need to ditch the dodgey ingredients!)
