Run On Organic Now has a Media Kit (& Why!)

When I started Run On Organic back in 2012,

during my last semester of college, I took it upon myself to create, forge & develop relationships with brands in an effort to try more products, learn more and help promote brands that I believe are doing a good thing. Back then, a large percentage of my effort was just that: me reaching out to brands that interested me, acquiring complementary samples in exchange for my honest & candid thoughts.

Run On Organic has grown a bit since then. I now have a passionate, supportive group of people through my blog & across many of the social media platforms. I am so thankful for every single one of you that subscribes to my blog and reads my thoughts. I truly do my best work, as fast as I can (amongst juggling wearing the other hats I wear in life).

With ROO’s growth has come a change in the percentage of work that I pursue and the work that falls in my lap. Right now, about 80 percent of the products that I review have been a result of a company/brand pursuing me as a writer/blogger. I am so stoked on that fact. I feel like it’s been such a cool thing to watch this little idea evolve and develop over the last few years.

Until this point, I have not hosted a single advertisement on blog. Any logos or links on my site are affiliate links (I get a teensy commission if you make a purchase using that link). However, I do not get paid otherwise to promote those brands.

To keep up with the demand of running ROO (brands asking me to collaborate with them, advertising inquiries, new projects that pop up frequently) I have formed a media kit. This brief graphic provides what I believe is fair to ask as compensation for my time spent promoting a brand, hosting ads, etc.

Transparency is very important to me. I felt compelled to share this slight shift of gears on ROO and promise to disclose in each post that I get paid that that’s the case. Know that what I share here is done with a mind that aims to and is driven to educate, inspire and disclose the truth about food & skin care. Whether I have been given the product or have purchased it myself is irrelevant in that regard–though many may assume that paid reviews are always biased. That’s not who I am and anyone who knows me can can speak to that.

That said, I am excited for what has been with ROO, what is & what’s to come.

Thank you to everyone along the way for offering your help, advice, guidance, support and good vibes. They are very felt. I appreciate every single comment that I ever get from you guys. I am overflowing with gratitude for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

My Thoughts:

This post will be brief and to the point, as I’ve review Amazing Grass products several times before and believe they are one of the highest quality lines of plant-based supplements and whole food sourced products available.

These greens packets (the Tangerine Immunity and Watermelon Energy) are my favorite flavors that Amazing Grass has come out with yet. The tangerine and watermelon flavors, respectively, do such a great job of masking the robust, greeny flavor. As always, these greens are loaded with organic ingredients and are incredibly nutrient rich. I love to mix them with water in a blender bottle and consume them pre or post workout. They’re not too heavy in your stomach like some protein shakes can be. I like that the Watermelon Energy contains a small amount of caffeine, which provides you with a little boost if you choose to consume it like I do, around workout time. It’s always a great idea to eat foods that boost and maintain a strong wall of immunity. Thus, I love that the Tangerine Immunity contains immune boosting antioxidants from plant sources.

As of late, I have been incorporating more organic whey protein than any other kind. But, I understand that whey is not comparable with vegan diets, hence Amazing Grass has smartly created a product (using plant based proteins) that will satisfying vegans and most meat eaters, alike. I really love the idea of getting a serving of greens and protein in one healthful, good-tasting packet–it’s a very unique product. In these Greens and Protein blends, Amazing Grass uses brown rice protein, hemp protein, quinoa protein and pumpkin seed protein. My assumption is that this combination is used to form a complete amino acid profile, making these proteins more digestible and bioavailable to the body. The only one of these four that I take issue with is the brown rice protein, as I aim to steer clear of grains (most of the time) and grain-derived proteins. But, I love the use of hemp, quinoa and pumpkin seed proteins. The Vanilla Spice is my favorite flavor of the two and I like it best with a half & half mixture of water and coconut milk in the bottle that’s pictured–it does a great job of breaking up the clumps. Any blender bottle will work. The Chocolate flavor is enjoyable, too, and boasts a similar nutritional profile to the Vanilla Spice blend.

The Expansive Range of Coconut Oil Uses

Coconut Oil

This post is about the many uses for coconut oil.

Contains: pure, organic, extra virgin coconut oil. (is solid at room temperature, liquid when in the palm of your hand or heated otherwise)

Description: Coconut oil boasts many health benefits from its healthy Omega fats. One of the good fats, lauric acid, makes up about 50% of coconut oil. Lauric acid is a rare medium-chain fatty acid found in human breast milk. It supports healthy metabolism and is being studied for its anti-fungal, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial health-protecting properties. Some researchers predict that lauric acid will become as well known in health circles as Omega-3 is today.

My personal favorite product that Nutiva makes is their Coconut Oil. This stuff is the real deal and is exponentially beneficial to both the inside and outside of your body. If you have ever read the ingredient list on, say, body lotion, lip balm, or make-up remover, you perhaps had the same shocked reaction that I did. What are all of those chemicals, and why am I about to put them into/onto my body? Coconut oil’s obvious use is to replace the current oil you use in your kitchen, and it does an excellent job of it, as well adding a wonderful flavor to your cooking. What is less obvious is that Nutiva’s coconut oil has so many other amazing uses.

Thus far, I am and have been using Coconut Oil for these purposes:

-Eye makeup remover

-Lip balm

-Skin moisturizer (a little goes a long way)

-Oil treatment for hair (either apply root to end and let sit before shampooing, or apply to ends of hair before styling)

-Cuticle softener

-Used for oil pulling

-Used as the base of my:

-Shaving cream

-Tanning oil

-Added to morning coffee

-In cooking, baking & smoothie making

-Taken by the spoonful
