Estroblock Pro Triple Strength Pro Review + My Acne Journey

Estroblock Hormone Balancing Supplement

Overall Rating: 5 Stars

I love having this platform as an opportunity to share products that have literally changed my life. Estroblock has been the game changer for my hormonal, cystic acne that has plagued my face for years.

About Estroblock:

“Fight Acne

Estro Block clears toxic estrogens, while restoring good estrogens. Most acne is caused by toxic estrogen buildup. These synthetic estrogens also cause cancer.

Detoxify Hormones

Pesticides, pollution, high fat foods, and plastics of all types convert into these toxic cancer causing estrogens. Defend yourself with Estro Block

Reduce Fat

One of the most common symptoms of toxic estrogens is stubborn fat that just won’t go away. These synthetic estrogens cause fat to build up in a synthetic way that does not respond to natural methods for weight loss.

Estro Block Pro

Is 3x more potent than the original Estro Block!”

My Description & Thoughts on Estroblock:

I have tried MANY supplements in hopes that they would target and eliminate my acne (that I believed to be hormone related–and potentially caused by prior synthetic birth control use). There are so many products similar to Estroblock out there (as they depict in the above diagram) that are not as high of a dosage, are in a form that is not readily digested, or are not as high quality as Estroblock. Let me just cut to the chase and say this:

I believe that Estroblock (a non-gmo, plant derived supplement) is the single most effective supplement I’ve ever taken for my acne.

I have written a more in depth diary of my struggle with acne in an earlier post, which you can read here.

I did not document my skin progress month by month, but I did take a picture when first starting Estroblock–which shows the areas of my face that I struggled with most. (As embarrassing as it is to share, it’s worth it knowing that I might be helping someone progress on their own skin journey).

November 2013/Approx. May 2014

Side Note: I was eating very sensibly and healthily and still struggled with these blemishes.

I realize that the lighting is different in each of these photos, and they are not the best side-by-side comparison. However, I can assure you that there’s a big difference. All I deal with now are acne scars and the occasional pimple or two from my menstrual cycle (which are few and far between).

Like I’ve suggested here, it has taken my skin (and hormones) several months to get back on track. It was not an immediate fix. It’s important to note, though, that most natural remedies that involve balancing hormones are never going to be a quick fix. Your body needs time to rebalance itself. This route is better than taking a prescription acne solution because it truly gets to the root of the problem and addresses it in a natural manner, rather than using chemicals to solve the problem in the short run.

I can’t recommend this product enough to those that struggle with hormonal acne–I’m so glad I discovered this product and I’m happy to share it with all of you. I would say that Estroblock Pro is the best bet for those that have acne that looks similar to mine (around the chin and jawline). You are likely to see more thorough results by taking the Pro version. Cost-wise, Estroblock is not cheap. It’s $39 dollars a bottle and that lasts you a month. HOWEVER, at the risk of sounding like I’m preaching–I have to say…This is an investment in your health (and for many, your confidence). To me, it is well worth the money. Many other cheaper brands that you will see are cheaper for a reason–they are not non-gmo. Also, once you get your hormones back on track, you are able to wean yourself back down to small dosage of Estroblock (especially if you are eating a clean, plant-rich diet).

My Description & Thoughts:

I have really looked forward to writing this post because these products have triggered me to have some pretty profound thoughts (profound for my mind).

Let me just say this. Obviously, I advocate organic skin care products and believe that they are, more often than not, the best route to take when trying to improve the health of skin. The tiny loophole I encountered throughout this entire process is that organic skin care products have not “cured” my acne. Even the priciest, most simple, organic products have not been the “cure-all.”

I believe that is because acne is not only effected by the outside of our body. Acne is a result of what is going on inside of our bodies. Diet, hormone imbalance and digestive issues seem to be common contributing factors to the presence of acne.

I digress a bit, but I wanted to share those thoughts (briefly) because Veronica Malibu products have triggered me to go down a path of truth finding when it comes to acne.

Ingredients aside, I found that using these products together on a daily basis (besides the microdermabrasion, which I used once a week) tackled the inflammation and redness that I was experiencing with my current blemishes. My skin appeared and felt smoother after doing this routine for about 2 weeks. I did find the blemish drying lotion to be unpleasantly fragrant, likely because of its sulfur content. My routine consisted of washing with the mint wash, dabbed the toner onto my entire face (focusing on the “T” zone), applying the Azulene cream all of my face, then applying the blemish drying lotion to problem areas. Each product had a nice consistency and did it’s job well.

But, not all of the ingredients are “perfect” and organic…. That really threw me for a loop. I truly felt torn. I thought, “here are products that are a result of Veronica’s many years in skin care—they are working in minimizing my acne—but they don’t have the cleanest ingredient list.” She does use several organic ingredients, but like I included earlier in this post, Veronica says,

“I do use some organic ingredients, but not all.  I come from a acne background and organic products don’t work on all types of acne.”

This made me scratch my head and really challenged me to have an open mind. 9 times out of 10 I would vehemently refuse to use pharmaceutical products, or products with “active” ingredients. I generally choose to seek the natural route to skin health.
Since I believe part of my acne problem has been a result of years on birth control, I’ve deemed my acne to be primarily caused by a hormonal imbalance. It’s almost like: because a drug could have caused or exasperated my acne, it might take something “stronger” to help break the cycle that my skin is in.
I have felt the need to recognize that pharmaceuticals just might have a place in skin care. I do not think that they truly cure the problem, but they seem that they can be a short term fix. I don’t see them as a great long term fix since they don’t tackle the underlying issue inside of your body.
Essentially, I couldn’t deny that the products were reducing the inflammation on my face, but I concluded that I, myself, would not be likely to establish a long term routine with these products.
If you are searching for a line of products that simply get the job done and are effective in minimizing the appearance of acne, then I would recommend these products. If you scrutinize ingredients lists and are weary about using anything less than completely pure, then I would say find another line of products that suites your requirements.
I had my eye on Veronica Malibu product for a few years and genuinely felt excited to try them. I REALLY wanted to love them in a whole way (effectiveness & ingredients). I do find them effective, and have opened my mind to understand that sometimes acne can be effectively treated by active ingredients that are not necessarily organic.
I hope that this post will help shed a bit more light on acne. I believe that Veronica is top-notch, was a joy to work and communicate with, was incredibly generous, and is extremely passionate about skin care.

About HollyBeth Organics:

about

“HollyBeth Organics began as a hobby as HollyBeth was traveling the globe. After 50 countries, 50 years and an epiphany, she decided to put her passion to the test and create HollyBeth Organics, a USDA certified organic skin care line. HollyBeth grew up walking in the woods in North Georgia with her Grandmother who was well versed in plants and their medicinal properties. While living in France, she was introduced to essential oils and organic skincare and living in Latin America, she learned the curative powers of herbs from local healers. While living in Spain, a friend’s mother told her to always use eye cream.  After collecting too many eye creams from her travels, she decided to create her own. The result is a complete line of effective skincare products. HollyBeth hand selects ingredients and formulates her unique recipes based on traditional homeopathic remedies from around the world. Her focus is on results oriented plants and essential oils that are safe for the entire family. All products are lovingly created by HollyBeth in artisan batches in a converted former cotton warehouse in Atlanta.”

Ingredients: Made with Rose Absolute Precious Oil (Rosa Damascena)*, Jasmine Absolute Oil (Jasminum Grandiflorum)*, and an exclusive blend of Organic Certified Essential Oils & Vitamin E.

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

I’m always on the search to discover new, organic fragrances because the perfumes and colognes you’ll find in your local department store are typically filled to the brim with harmful chemicals. I, like many, have accrued some favorite perfumes over the years. Luckily, I have been able to become more acquainted with essential oils and what they smell like–giving me a good idea of how to recreate my favorite perfumes.

If I could created my ideal perfume scent, it would be a bit different than this one. I really enjoy a musky scent with sandalwood notes.

That said, I really enjoyed this fragrance as a change of pace. It’s typically not what I’d wear, but I like that. It’s rosy with herbaceous and floral notes, making it the perfect girly and flirty scent. It is light and pleasant and I’d deem it suitable for both day and night wear. This concoction is so rich that you don’t need much of it to be adequately doused in the lovely fragrance.

I’d recommend this scent, Flourish, to a gal with an affinity for floral perfumes. I envision a dainty girl with bows in her hair to be wearing this. 🙂 This is a great, high quality perfume by HollyBeth!

Marigold-Bergamot-Dry-Oil-324x259

Marigold Bergamot Dry Oil

HollyBeth Organics’ Description:

“For normal to oily skin

This lightweight dry oil features dynamic bergamot to balance skin and reduce oiliness. Combined with breezy marigold it calms and relaxes skin and heals minor irritation. Perfectly smooth and delightful, this is the ideal daily moisturizer for normal to oily faces.

For hundreds of years, perfumers in Western Europe have used the aromatic extract from bergamot oranges for its chameleon-like ability to mingle with many other fragrances. Citrus plants grow best near the Tropics and have long served numerous healing and therapeutic purposes.

To Use: Massage a small amount into face and neck avoiding the eye area. Use morning and night. Keep in a cool dry place away from heat.

Ingredients: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Vitis vinifera (Grape)Seed Oil*, beeswax*, Calendula (Marigold) Officinalis ,* Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil,* Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*. * organic

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

This oil was a godsend to receive. As many organic products that I use and as many organic foods that I eat, I feel sometimes that I have yet to master how to manage my hormones and how they affect my facial skin. I seemingly always have a problem area on my face. Because of this, I really gravitate towards a product like this that is well thought out, targets oily skin and helps heal irritated skin. I apply this after cleansing to damp skin–a tiny dab does it.

Knowing that I am putting a pure, organic oil onto my face after cleansing is something that brings me some peace of mind. After using this oil, I quickly saw that this product delivers what it promises to. My skin feels soothed, less inflamed and less irritated. Using this product in combination with a mostly clean diet helps my skin to stay clear and allows me to better manage my breakouts. You can absolutely tell that the oil delivers a hefty dose of nutrients to the skin.

I’d highly recommend this oil to any individual plagued with oily or problem skin. This oil will help you skin “chill out,” and you will have peace of mind knowing that a pure blend of organic oils is going onto your skin.

Hair-Body-Silk-324x259

Chocolate Peppermint Hair & Body Oil

HollyBeth Organics’ Description:

“A fragrant and luxurious indulgence, this sublime treatment works equally well to nourish and fortify hair and skin. A staple in every Southern garden, the camellia flower provides the gorgeous, lightweight oil that has been the beauty secret of Japanese geishas for hundreds of years. Here it combines with argan oil to moisturize and restore while protecting against UV damage and helping to prevent signs of aging. Meanwhile, chocolate peppermint oil imparts a delightful cooling and tingling sensation and vetiver provides soothing and antispectic properties. Hair & Body Silk leaves skin supple and glistening and hair shiny, healthy and full.

To use: Use this silken blend from head to toe: Apply to damp skin or to damp or clean dry hair. Spread two or three drops between hands, then gently smooth over hair to tame frizzies, shine and hydrate. Use as body oil after shower and can also be used on cuticles to soften and moisturize.

Ingredients: Camellia oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Argania (Argan) spinosa oil*, Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Andropogon zizanioides (Vetiver) Oil.* *organic

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

What a decadent treat this sample was! This rich duo of chocolate and peppermint does more than nourish skin & hair–it will tempt you to take a slurp! It smells divine, like a chocolate, minty paradise. It’s never a bad thing to smell like a sweet treat, right?!

I enjoyed using this oil most on the ends of my hair. After drying clean hair, I applied it to the bottom 2/3 of hair to give my locks some added luster and yummy fragrance. The uses for this oil are virtually endless–you can use it from head to toe.

It’s such a unique idea–I’ve never seen a product before for this purpose, with this combo and with these high quality ingredients. Because of that, I’d recommend this to anyone who loves chocolate: so……..that is merely everyone!

Just the Goods Skin Care

Overall Rating: 4 Stars/5 Stars (4.5 Stars)

About Just The Goods:

“Just the Goods seeks to offer affordable vegan products to help them become more widely available, therefore facilitating healthier living as part of increased consciousness about kind living, environment protection, and consumerism in general.

Just the Goods does not test any of its products on animals, nor does it commission such testing, because I believe it both unnecessary and unproven to make cosmetics safer for human consumers. Instead of testing Just the Goods on animals, I test all products on myself, and I am joined in this process by many great friends eager to try out my recipes. I am very concerned with how my products rank at http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com, so the spectrum of ingredients I use have known safety records. The Compact for Safe Cosmetics has acknowledged my choices by granting Just the Goods Champion Status. Beyond that, be assured that I would never include in a product something I wouldn’t consider putting on my own body, or giving to people I care about =-).”

Vegan Face Wash for Acne Prone Skin

Just the Good’s Description:

“Just the Goods’ face wash for acne prone skin begins with a gentle organic castille soap base plus kaolin clay to help absorb impurities. Tea tree, eucalyptus, and lavender essential oils provide a deep, antibacterial clean.

This product is available with our without exfoliating jojoba beads.

This product is handcrafted without the use of artificial preservatives. Please store in a cool, dark place for maximum longevity.

Ingredients:

Distilled water, saponified organic sunflower oil + organic coconut oil, vegetable glycerine, salt, citric acid, kaolin clay, tea tree oil, eucalyptus and lavender essential oil,  jojoba beads (where applicable)
Note:

Not recommended for highly sensitive skin.”

My Description & Thoughts:

This cleanser worked great on my acne prone skin. You can feel this wash thoroughly cleansing and purifying skin. The consistency is a bit watery and suds up as you lather it into the skin. The use of the tea tree, eucalyptus and lavender have a calming and clarifying affect on skin. The only improvement would be if these essential oils were organic–along with the other organic ingredients.

Overall, I am very impressed with this face wash. It’s not easy to come across a product with good ingredients that targets blemishes without drying out skin.

I would recommend this face wash to anyone, regardless of gender, who struggles with acne. It will help clear your skin and will act as a catalyst in helping blemishes go away.

facial-moisturizer-acne-prone-smaller-400x380

Vegan Facial Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin

Just the Good’s Description:

“A quick look at the ingredients in conventional moisturizing lotion can be disconcerting. Petroleum is problematic enough without a whole bunch of other chemicals such as parabens and carbomers, not to mention artificial fragrances and colours, added to the mix. Yet, those elements constitute the basis of most widely available products and we simply can’t understand why.

It seems the sky is the limit when it comes to selecting oils for use in cosmetics, so our goal when creating a moisturizing lotion was to balance healthier choices and affordability. This is what we came up with:

Ingredient highlights:

Avocado oil is rich in vitamins A, D and E, as well as potassium, proteins, beta-carotene and numerous essential unsaturated fatty acids. It also contains a high quantity of sterolins, which is reported to help reduce age spots, help heal sun damage and scars. Avocado oil is furthermore said to increase the amount of collagen in the skin, which facilitates regeneration, particularly in the case of skin that is dehydrated or otherwise affected by difficult climates (i.e. Winnipeg’s dry winters). Some claim that avocado oil can even help to relieve the dryness and itching of psoriasis and eczema.

Apricot kernel oil has a high content of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as fatty acids such as oleic and linoleic acid. It is considered gentle enough to be used in products for babies, and is thus also suitable for mature and sensitive skin. It is well absorbed without leaving a greasy feeling, and can be helpful in calming the discomfort associated with conditions such as eczema and dermatitis.

Aloe vera gel is a powerful moisturizer that simultaneously helps to remove dead skin. It also stimulates the synthesis of collagen and elastin and is known to have a healing effect on burns and other wounds, all of which translates into assisting regeneration.

Tea tree oil helps fight bacteria and keep pores clear.

Distilled water gives this lotion a smooth, fluid texture while ensuring a non-greasy finish, vegetable based emulsifying wax holds everything together, and vegetable glycerine provides staying power.

Complete Ingredient List:

distilled water, persea gratissima (avocado) oil, prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, exthxylated sorbitan ester (vegetable based emulsifying wax), aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf gel, vegetable glycerine, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, tocopherol (vitamin e).”

My Description & Thoughts:

I followed up the wash with this moisturizer and found that it restores the moisture balance on skin nicely. Some might think acne sufferers should shy away from moisturizer, however, this is not founded. I find that the opposite is true–skin needs to have an adequate amount of moisture to heal itself. The only fragrance noticeable is from the essential oils, thus, it smells fresh and herbaceous.

Anyone who tries the wash should get a bottle of this as well, as they work well together to tackle problem areas on skin.

acnespottreatmentsmaller-400x380

Vegan Acne Spot Treatment

Just the Good’s Description:

“After months of testing and many positive reviews, Just the Goods is pleased to finally launch a simple yet effective vegan acne spot treatment.

Combining the clean healing benefits of aloe vera with the antibacterial properties of astringent essential oils, this gel treats blemishes without overdrying skin in the way products filled with petroleum and alcohol are known to do.

To use, add a small dab/thin layer to affected area on freshly washed skin. Allow the gel to dry sightly before applying make-up, if desired. The gel may be re-applied as necessary.

Feel free to combine this product with Just the Good’s other facial care products for oily/combination and/or acne-prone skin, including face wash, toner, and moisturizer.

This product is handcrafted without the use of artificial preservatives. Please store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight for maximum longevity.

Ingredients:

aloe barbadensis (aloe) leaf gel, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, pelargonium graveolens (geranium bourbon) essential oil, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) essential oil.”

My Description & Thoughts:

This stuff is great!! I am happy that I’ve had this on hand through times of the month when my skin breaks out. Like with the wash, my only scrutiny of this spot treatment is that the essential oils are not organic. However, they are naturally derived, which is a good thing. In regards to effectiveness, I can see a noticeable different in my blemishes after applying this treatment a few times–my skin reduces in redness, puffiness, and irritation.

I recommend applying it a few times a day to problem spots, as well as right before going to sleep for optimum effectiveness. This is a product that is great to have in your beauty cabinet for skin “emergencies.”

lipscrubsmaller1-400x380

Vegan Lip Scrub

Just the Good’s Description:

“Beat the effects of dry weather with this gentle lip scrub available in a range of delicious flavours including: cinnamon, peppermint or orange essential oil, vanilla absolute, or unflavoured.

To use, place a small amount on your finger tip and rub gently onto your lips in a circular motion. Rinse off or, if you can’t help yourself, licking is okay, too 😉 Follow with lip balm if desired.

This preservative-free product lasts longer when exposure to the elements (i.e. air, humidity, sunlight) is kept to a minimum. Please store in a cool, dark place and keep tightly sealed between uses.

Ingredients:

sucrose (brown sugar), deodorized simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, vegetable glycerine + essential oil / absolutes where applicable.”

My Description & Thoughts:

This lip scrub tastes good enough to eat. I have not consumed it, but when applied to my lips, I want to lick it off! The brown sugar provides a fantastic grittiness for exfoliation but also makes this concoction amazingly tasty and sweet. Add in the vanilla and this lip scrub is seriously phenomenal stuff.

I recommend this to anyone and everyone–who doesn’t want to make their lips softer, healthier and scrumptious? As a gift, I see this product being perfect as well. I keep my jar in the shower and apply and rinse, making clean up simple.
