Annmarie Gianni Essentials Collection Review

This is my Annmarie Gianni Essentials Collection Review. I’ve reviewed some other Annmarie Gianni products in the past; you can check out one of those reviews here.

About Annmarie Gianni Skincare:

Curate. We carefully curate organic and wildcrafted ingredients—from herbs to high-vibration plant extracts—that meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness for your skin and body. We forge relationships with farmers and tirelessly audit our sources to maintain our standards of purity and sustainability.

Infuse. We infuse hand-selected herbs into organic aloe vera and skin-nutritive oils at low heat (never over 95°). These botanical infusions are left to steep for up to 30 days and energized by crystals before serving as a potent base for all our formulas.

Create. We then add high-performance seed oils, antioxidant-rich botanicals, and synergistic plant stem cells that deliver skin-supporting nutrients and luxurious aromatherapy. The result? Active, supernaturally-effective skin care—and our commitment to Clean Beauty Since Day 1. Finally, we house all of our products in Miron violet glass, which energizes the organic molecules of the product by filtering in a small percentage of light while protecting it from the harmful rays of the light spectrum. These are then packaged with intention using sustainable materials that are recyclable or made up of post-consumer-waste, and produced at a wind-powered facility.

My Experience + Thoughts:

These are a couple of many products I’ve tried by Annmarie Gianni skincare over the years and let me just say–they never dissappoint. The Essentials Collection smells of citrus-woody aromas and brings restoration and the deepest nourishment to skin.

If you’re new to clean beauty, it’s tough to differentiate one brand from the next. I’ll help you out in offering up that Annmarie is heads and shoulders above 99% of the other brands out there. Yes, some brands are “sans” toxic ingredients. But, the quality of the ingredients they do use are not always mindfully selected.

All of this matters because it effects the synergy of the products and how they perform! Wildcrafted, pure ingredients don’t strip or irritate skin and they don’t expose you to unwanted toxins (as are common in so many personal care items nowadays).

Renew Facial Cream Cleanser

The Renew Facial Cream Cleanser provides a nourishing clean, leaving your skin refreshed but not stripped. This is important because aggravating the moisture barrier in your skin can causes irritation and redness. If you’re wearing makeup before cleansing, I’d recommend using a microfiber washcloth or gentle wash rag. Look for gentle fabrics like hemp to accompany the cleanser in getting makeup off. The smell is an uplifting, yet grounding citrusy-woodsy aroma. I am a huge fan; it’s so beautiful.

Radiate Moisturizing Facial Oil

The Radiate Moisturizing Facial Oil is jam packed with some of my favorite oils for having an even, healthy complexion. Tamanu, jojoba, argan oils form the base. In addition, sea buckthorn berry extract takes it up another notch. I’ve bought them all individually in the past, but it’s nice to have ultra-clean versions of all of them in one blend. This one soaks into skin easily and leaves an incredible floral + foresty scent left on the skin.

Using Annmarie products always feels like going to a luxurious, wildcrafted, organic, natural spa. Any irritation I may have on the skin gets some relief and the aromatherapy experience with these formulations is second to none.

My Thoughts:

My experience with herbal face food has been interesting. The first time I tried this serum (after cleansing), I distributed about a dime size of the serum onto my face and……WHOA. Major stinging and irritation. I was so confused. Well, I quickly learned a few things:

-I hadn’t read the FAQ section of their site to realize that this stoning sensation can occur.

-The ingredients contain clove oil (which I assume is similar to cinnamon–which leaves the same stinging sensation on the face, due to the fact that it brings blood to the surface of skin and rejuvenates it.)

-You do, indeed, need to shake up the mixture before using it. This will help equally distribute the oils.

So, the initial use was my own fault. I was ill-equipped (information wise) and I think I used too much. Synergies for Health also states that the stinging will be more intense for skin that needs the boost. I didn’t realize my skin needed it that bad–but I’m willing to accept that 🙂

The next few times I used this serum, I shook the bottle, only rubbed a few drops into my fingertips and then applied to my wet facial skin. This time, MUCH better. There is still a slight zing from this serum, but not painful at all. It feels nice and refreshing, actually.

The best part about this serum is the awesomely, entirely organic ingredients list. This stuff is truly pure. Ingredient-wise, this is a dream serum. Performance wise, it’s a dream serum as well. It feels like it helps balance the oil on my skin, and soothes blemishes if I have them. It feels like this serum does a whole lot of good to my skin, sans chemicals and junky ingredients.

I’d recommend this to someone looking for the real deal facial serum. This stuff is potent (and should be used as they suggest), but it performs wonderfully when done right. My skin feels boosted and glowy every time after using this herbal face food.

My Description & Thoughts about the different witch hazel scents:

I’m always looking for new ways to change up my skin routine for the better. I love trying new skin care products. I had heard of witch hazel before but was unaware of how to use it with my daily regimen Luckily, Thayer’s contacted me about giving their products a try. I love that a lot of the ingredients are organic and all of them are plant-derived and natural. I’ve been genuinely excited about all of the uses I’ve come up with so far–it makes witch hazel a useful, versatile product, as it replaces several bathroom products.

1. Mid-Day Facial Spray

Sometimes after a workout, half way through the day, my skin needs a refresh. I’ve found that what works perfectly for this is a mixture (1 part filtered water and 2 parts Thayer’s Witch Hazel) sprayed onto my skin with a small spray bottle. I dab the excess witch hazel off of my skin with a clean towel. Doing this helps my skin feel fresh without stripping away all of my skin’s moisture. My favorite for this is the lemon witch hazel.

2. Make-Up Brush Cleaner

It makes sense to clean your makeup brushes with a natural, gentle cleaner if you are already making an effort to use natural skin products.  That said, Thayers Witch Hazel makes the perfect brush cleaner. I simply fill a small bowl with witch hazel and place the end of the brushes into the liquid.  I let them sit there for a few minutes, swish them around and then rinse them. Let them air dry before using them again. Pick the witch hazel scent that you like best, as your brushes will not have remnants of that fresh scent. I like using the cucumber for this purpose.

3. Quick “Shower”

Because I am breaking a sweat at least once a day during my workout, I often find the need to clean up but don’t want to take several showers a day. A great solution that has worked well for me is dabbing Thayer’s Witch Hazel on a wet wash cloth. Wipe down at the necessary spots and you’re good to know! It will help eliminate body and odor and will leave a fresh scent behind. My favorite for this is using the peach witch hazel!

HollyBeth Organics Review

About HollyBeth Organics:

about

“HollyBeth Organics began as a hobby as HollyBeth was traveling the globe. After 50 countries, 50 years and an epiphany, she decided to put her passion to the test and create HollyBeth Organics, a USDA certified organic skin care line. HollyBeth grew up walking in the woods in North Georgia with her Grandmother who was well versed in plants and their medicinal properties. While living in France, she was introduced to essential oils and organic skincare and living in Latin America, she learned the curative powers of herbs from local healers. While living in Spain, a friend’s mother told her to always use eye cream.  After collecting too many eye creams from her travels, she decided to create her own. The result is a complete line of effective skincare products. HollyBeth hand selects ingredients and formulates her unique recipes based on traditional homeopathic remedies from around the world. Her focus is on results oriented plants and essential oils that are safe for the entire family. All products are lovingly created by HollyBeth in artisan batches in a converted former cotton warehouse in Atlanta.”

Ingredients: Made with Rose Absolute Precious Oil (Rosa Damascena)*, Jasmine Absolute Oil (Jasminum Grandiflorum)*, and an exclusive blend of Organic Certified Essential Oils & Vitamin E.

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

I’m always on the search to discover new, organic fragrances because the perfumes and colognes you’ll find in your local department store are typically filled to the brim with harmful chemicals. I, like many, have accrued some favorite perfumes over the years. Luckily, I have been able to become more acquainted with essential oils and what they smell like–giving me a good idea of how to recreate my favorite perfumes.

If I could created my ideal perfume scent, it would be a bit different than this one. I really enjoy a musky scent with sandalwood notes.

That said, I really enjoyed this fragrance as a change of pace. It’s typically not what I’d wear, but I like that. It’s rosy with herbaceous and floral notes, making it the perfect girly and flirty scent. It is light and pleasant and I’d deem it suitable for both day and night wear. This concoction is so rich that you don’t need much of it to be adequately doused in the lovely fragrance.

I’d recommend this scent, Flourish, to a gal with an affinity for floral perfumes. I envision a dainty girl with bows in her hair to be wearing this. 🙂 This is a great, high quality perfume by HollyBeth!

Marigold-Bergamot-Dry-Oil-324x259

Marigold Bergamot Dry Oil

HollyBeth Organics’ Description:

“For normal to oily skin

This lightweight dry oil features dynamic bergamot to balance skin and reduce oiliness. Combined with breezy marigold it calms and relaxes skin and heals minor irritation. Perfectly smooth and delightful, this is the ideal daily moisturizer for normal to oily faces.

For hundreds of years, perfumers in Western Europe have used the aromatic extract from bergamot oranges for its chameleon-like ability to mingle with many other fragrances. Citrus plants grow best near the Tropics and have long served numerous healing and therapeutic purposes.

To Use: Massage a small amount into face and neck avoiding the eye area. Use morning and night. Keep in a cool dry place away from heat.

Ingredients: Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil*, Vitis vinifera (Grape)Seed Oil*, beeswax*, Calendula (Marigold) Officinalis ,* Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Oil,* Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*. * organic

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

This oil was a godsend to receive. As many organic products that I use and as many organic foods that I eat, I feel sometimes that I have yet to master how to manage my hormones and how they affect my facial skin. I seemingly always have a problem area on my face. Because of this, I really gravitate towards a product like this that is well thought out, targets oily skin and helps heal irritated skin. I apply this after cleansing to damp skin–a tiny dab does it.

Knowing that I am putting a pure, organic oil onto my face after cleansing is something that brings me some peace of mind. After using this oil, I quickly saw that this product delivers what it promises to. My skin feels soothed, less inflamed and less irritated. Using this product in combination with a mostly clean diet helps my skin to stay clear and allows me to better manage my breakouts. You can absolutely tell that the oil delivers a hefty dose of nutrients to the skin.

I’d highly recommend this oil to any individual plagued with oily or problem skin. This oil will help you skin “chill out,” and you will have peace of mind knowing that a pure blend of organic oils is going onto your skin.

Hair-Body-Silk-324x259

Chocolate Peppermint Hair & Body Oil

HollyBeth Organics’ Description:

“A fragrant and luxurious indulgence, this sublime treatment works equally well to nourish and fortify hair and skin. A staple in every Southern garden, the camellia flower provides the gorgeous, lightweight oil that has been the beauty secret of Japanese geishas for hundreds of years. Here it combines with argan oil to moisturize and restore while protecting against UV damage and helping to prevent signs of aging. Meanwhile, chocolate peppermint oil imparts a delightful cooling and tingling sensation and vetiver provides soothing and antispectic properties. Hair & Body Silk leaves skin supple and glistening and hair shiny, healthy and full.

To use: Use this silken blend from head to toe: Apply to damp skin or to damp or clean dry hair. Spread two or three drops between hands, then gently smooth over hair to tame frizzies, shine and hydrate. Use as body oil after shower and can also be used on cuticles to soften and moisturize.

Ingredients: Camellia oleifera (Camellia) Seed Oil*, Argania (Argan) spinosa oil*, Mentha piperita (Peppermint) Oil*, Andropogon zizanioides (Vetiver) Oil.* *organic

Vegan, Gluten-Free & Cruelty-Free.”

My Description & Thoughts:

What a decadent treat this sample was! This rich duo of chocolate and peppermint does more than nourish skin & hair–it will tempt you to take a slurp! It smells divine, like a chocolate, minty paradise. It’s never a bad thing to smell like a sweet treat, right?!

I enjoyed using this oil most on the ends of my hair. After drying clean hair, I applied it to the bottom 2/3 of hair to give my locks some added luster and yummy fragrance. The uses for this oil are virtually endless–you can use it from head to toe.

It’s such a unique idea–I’ve never seen a product before for this purpose, with this combo and with these high quality ingredients. Because of that, I’d recommend this to anyone who loves chocolate: so……..that is merely everyone!
