Run On Organic Now has a Media Kit (& Why!)

When I started Run On Organic back in 2012,

during my last semester of college, I took it upon myself to create, forge & develop relationships with brands in an effort to try more products, learn more and help promote brands that I believe are doing a good thing. Back then, a large percentage of my effort was just that: me reaching out to brands that interested me, acquiring complementary samples in exchange for my honest & candid thoughts.

Run On Organic has grown a bit since then. I now have a passionate, supportive group of people through my blog & across many of the social media platforms. I am so thankful for every single one of you that subscribes to my blog and reads my thoughts. I truly do my best work, as fast as I can (amongst juggling wearing the other hats I wear in life).

With ROO’s growth has come a change in the percentage of work that I pursue and the work that falls in my lap. Right now, about 80 percent of the products that I review have been a result of a company/brand pursuing me as a writer/blogger. I am so stoked on that fact. I feel like it’s been such a cool thing to watch this little idea evolve and develop over the last few years.

Until this point, I have not hosted a single advertisement on blog. Any logos or links on my site are affiliate links (I get a teensy commission if you make a purchase using that link). However, I do not get paid otherwise to promote those brands.

To keep up with the demand of running ROO (brands asking me to collaborate with them, advertising inquiries, new projects that pop up frequently) I have formed a media kit. This brief graphic provides what I believe is fair to ask as compensation for my time spent promoting a brand, hosting ads, etc.

Transparency is very important to me. I felt compelled to share this slight shift of gears on ROO and promise to disclose in each post that I get paid that that’s the case. Know that what I share here is done with a mind that aims to and is driven to educate, inspire and disclose the truth about food & skin care. Whether I have been given the product or have purchased it myself is irrelevant in that regard–though many may assume that paid reviews are always biased. That’s not who I am and anyone who knows me can can speak to that.

That said, I am excited for what has been with ROO, what is & what’s to come.

Thank you to everyone along the way for offering your help, advice, guidance, support and good vibes. They are very felt. I appreciate every single comment that I ever get from you guys. I am overflowing with gratitude for you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Fitfluential: About Time Protein Review

About Time Protein

Overall Rating: 3 Stars

About ‘About Time’:

“Expect more from your protein supplements and meal replacement bars. About Time is simply the cleanest, best-tasting protein family of nutritional products on the market today. Whether you’re looking for a whey protein isolate, a pre-workout supplement, on-the-go snacks, or a vegan protein, About Time has a high quality product designed to meet your needs while tasting great.

At About Time, we are passionate about nutrition. That’s why we design our products to be nutritionally superior to other options without resorting to artificial flavors or artificial sweeteners. Trust us, your body will feel the difference.

Our Natural products are ideal for everyone, including athletes in training, those leading an active lifestyle, and those looking for help with weight management or other clinical nutrition needs.

Learn about each of our product offerings in the About Time Shop.”

These products are:

1.       Gluten free, Non GMO, Great taste (all products)

2.       Transitions well into baking and all recipe types

3.       Sweetened with Stevia

4.       The vegan protein is dairy free, infused with coconut oil powder, no grit, 3 flavors

5.       Granola contains 9 g protein, fortified with chia seed- a perfect snack food by itself or in yogurt, in a smoothie or on top of sweet potatoes.

My Thoughts:

An a health geek for many years, I have been lucky enough to try a vast array of different protein powders, supplements, etc. To be frank, I am a bit of a supplement snob. I expect excellent quality both in regards to the ingredients being organic as well as being raw (at least the majority of them). Because of these high standards I’ve set for what goes into my body, I have to say that About Time protein products are about middle of the road.

To touch on taste–the bars & protein powders all taste okay, but not totally awesome. Organic and raw (or cold-processed) protein powders have a more wholesome, fresh taste to them. They taste less synthetic and closer to the source. Since About Time products are not organic & raw, they don’t taste as real to me.

Here’s what I do like about them:

-Non-gmo ingredients

-Sweetened with stevia

-Don’t taste bad

-Convenience provided via the single serving packs and bars (good for traveling)

-The idea of protein pancakes (not a new one–but it’s a great way to satisfy a comfort food craving with a protein rich meal)

They could improve in my eyes by:

-Using organic ingredients

-Adding superfoods to increase the health benefits

-Using all or mostly all raw ingredients (this would also improve the fresh taste)

-Eliminate the usage of casein (which is often highly processed and acidic to the body)

-Decreasing the carb content in the pancake mix

Gym Loose Tank Top

About:

-Loose Fit

-Sweat-wicking fabric

-Scoop Neckline

-Back cutout detailing

My Thoughts:

This top is beautiful–from the cut to the pattern and transparency of the fabric. It fit loosely, yet is feminine in that the fabric is see-through. I love the design. It’s the ideal, breathable running tank that could also be worn around town as a fun and unique tank top during warmer temps.

Studio Capsule Pants

About:

-Relaxed fit

-Moisture-wicking

-Wide elastic band

-drawstring

My Thoughts:

What a unique, comfortable, yet chic pair of sweatpants. I love the cute take on lounge sweatpants. They are tight enough around the bum and legs that they do not feel too frumpy on me. I see them as a fashionable twist on my cooler-temp sweatpants workout and hanging-out routine.

Narita V2 Shoes

About:

-Lightweight

-Mesh upper with synthetic suede overlays

-Breathable sockliner

My Thoughts:

When I first saw these shoes, I thought: throwback. I love the retro look and color contrast on these shoes. I wore these a few days ago while kicking the soccer ball around at the park with my family. They are perfect for kicking a soccer ball. They’re low profile, Simple with a flat platform where the laces are. Outside of soccer ball kicking, I find them as a comfortable sneaker to wear with sweatpants or jeans.

Gym Tank 3

About:

-Inner bra support

-Fitted; feminine silhouette

-Criss-cross back strap

-Sweat-wicking

My Thoughts:

I love the color of this form-fitting tank. It covers enough so that I feel comfortable exercising without having to be cautious. It’s also flattering, I feel, and would complement a range of body types. The inner bra support is a nice detail. I prefer to still wear a sports bra underneath–though it could be worn without one during low-intensity performance activities.

Gym 3/4 Length Tights

About:

-Unique patterning

-Flattering fit

-Drawstring waist

-Capri Length

My Thoughts:

These capris fit like a dream. They are comfortable at the waist–having the adjustable drawstring option is nice for water weight fluctuation. The material feels seamless and is ideal for optimizing performance and feel on long distance runs.

Mobium XT Shoe

About:

-Lightweight

-Breathable

-Rubber outsole

-Allows feet to move and expand freely

My Thoughts:

Love at first sight with the color of these shoes. I love how vibrant they are. They are very cushy and comfortable. I normally run in semi-minimalist shoes–thus, these shoes aren’t my pick for running. However, I enjoy wearing these shoes for performance during cross-training activities like hiking, weight lifting and doing plyometrics.
