About Blue Sky Family Farms (Based out of Warsaw, Indiana):

“We pledge to put the welfare of our chickens, people and planet first, in every decision we make, every action we take.”

Our hens live naturally, in safe environments where they can forage, perch and nest — with plenty of room for flapping, dust-bathing and social interaction. And our hens are free to roam inside and out, enjoying green grass, fresh air and sunshine as good weather permits.

From our family to yours: great tasting eggs you can feel good about in every way to nourish body and soul.

My Thoughts:

In my family’s normal routine, we tend to consume a fair amount of eggs–our black labrador Kona also gets some in her meals. I view eggs as a clean source of protein and healthy fats.

As always, though, quality is of the utmost importance to us. We always look for organic & free range eggs when grocery shopping. To me, this insures that the eggs we are consuming are free of pesticides, hormones and the animals have been given the opportunity to roam freely, which I feel good about.

Having eggs that are free range improves the nutritional profile of the egg, as the chickens have been given the opportunity to seek the necessary nutrients that their active little bodies crave.

I’m a huge advocate of having a large portion of your diet plant based, but I also see a space for organic, free range eggs in moderation.

I love supporting a farm with such standards and I find it refreshing that they are committed to their organic mission. I’d strongly recommend looking into a farm like Blue Sky Family Farms if you value having organic, free range eggs as we do. They are a source you’ll feel great about supporting. Thank you, Blue Sky for treating us to these beautiful eggs! Here’s to more farms doing the same.
