How to Use Essential Oils Daily

Heard of essential oils but wondering about uses and ways to incorporate them into your lifestyle? There are so many ways:

Skin Care

Ramp up your serum/moisturizer: Add a drop into your facial serum or moisturizer to pack an extra punch of anti-aging and skin nourishing benefits (My picks for this use: frankincense, ylang ylang, rosemary, myrhh or lavender)

Spot Treatment: Dab a drop of peppermint onto your finger tip and apply to blemishes

Pain Relief

Homemade Icy Hot: combining wintergreen + peppermint + sweet birch with coconut oil help to naturally alleviate muscle aches and pains. I keep this in my gym bag!

Hygiene

Homemade Toothpaste: Add 10-20 drops total of wintergreen + peppermint essential oils into 1 tbsp of baking soda and 1 tbsp of coconut oil

Hair Care

Leave-in conditioner: (also helps tame the static in your hair during the winter months!) Mix 3-5 drops into a carrier oil like jojoba or avocado and massage onto the ends of your

Deep conditioning treatment: Apply it to your scalp before showering and then shampoo out. (My picks for this use: peppermint, orange or lavender)

Laundry

Natural fragrance + cleaning power: Mix 5-10 drops into every load of laundry to freshen laundry and leave clothes + bedding smelling like an aromatic wonderland

Home Cleaning

-Add a few drops to your favorite green+ eco friendly cleaner for some added elbow grease (My picks for this use: lemon, lime, orange, bergamot or pine)

Aromatherapy

Smell is so closely tied to mood: Imagine your favorite aromas and choose the ones that you love most to put into your diffuser. (My picks for this use: peppermint, orange, balsam fir, pine and eucalyptus).

-Or, if you are looking to achieve a certain feeling, start with lavender for sleep, citrus for energy and frankincense for mental clarity

How do you use essential oils in your home?
