Welcome to this post: Non Toxic Toothpaste with Hydroxyapatite.
The main reason I feel confident enough in my oral health to write this blog post is that, drum roll…
After 10+ years of zero dentist visits and using holistic oral care products, I’m stoked to report that I have a healthy mouth with zero cavities. I recently went to Biological dentist, Dr. Julie Babcock in Overland Park, Kansas that gave me that news. Before finding Dr. Babcock, I had no clue that a Biological or Holistic Dentist even existed in this country. Update as of September 2022: I just went for my second annual cleaning and saw Dr. Julie Babcock, had another great visit! Teeth are in great health.
Moreover, let’s get back to the implications of an oral care ritual. Your mouth is the entryway of the GI tract, a large aspect of your microbiome, and is where gut health starts coming into play. Also, teeth + gums often accrue tartar and plaque over time. This build-up causes the gums to recede from the teeth, thus creating an opportunity for bacteria to get into the bloodstream. Having an oral care ritual care can, thankfully, help prevent all of this.
According to Nadine Artemis, Author of books Renegade Beauty & Holistic Dental Care:
Hydroxyapatite in Toothpaste
Sidenote, it’s actually important to look for nano-hydroxyapatite versus hydroxyapatite. The nano version of this remineralizer is exponentially more effective and will actually reach all of the crevices in your mouth.

Below, I’ve laid out all of the products I use on a daily basis. I’m so happy to report that in September 2021, I went to a holistic dentist for the first time in over 10 years. I had zero cavities and a very healthy mouth. I’ve got to chalk that up to clean eating and a non-toxic oral care routine.
Also, you’re likely here because you’re interested in whiter teeth. I have news for you, chemical-filled toothpastes are not the way to a whiter mouth. They actually degrade your teeth! With whitening in mind, I would suggest giving these cleaner options a try. Not only are they effective in lifting stains from your teeth, but they don’t create tooth sensitivity and they contain all nontoxic ingredients.
Another great resource I like to pass along is this post by the founder of Medicinal Foods, and a gentleman that I am fortunate to know through blogging, Sky Kubby. Check out his article about how to naturally remineralize your teeth and prevent cavities in a holistic way.

Electric Toothbrush, But Better
Boka Electric Toothbrush
Use Boka coupon code FEELMOREGOODER for 20% off
This vibrating toothbrush has three different options as far as vibration frequency. My teeth have never felt as clean as they do after using this brush. I used a manual brush for many years and didn’t think I needed an electric toothbrush. My loss; I was missing out. Thankfully, I use the Boka brush 2x daily now.
This brush comes with a small (aesthetically-pleasing) electric toothbrush charger that hardly takes up any counter space.

Boka Tongue Cleaner
Use Boka discount code FEELMOREGOODER for 20% off
Keeping your tongue clean goes beyond having fresh breath, though that’s a pleasant perk. The tongue is a common place for bacteria to build up as your day goes on eating meals & consuming drinks. To help give your palate a fresh slate each day, it’s helpful to clean (also known as tongue scraping) your tongue from as far back as you can comfortably clean, all the way to the tip of your tongue.
You’ll notice a good amount of gunk comes off the first time. Seeing that will keep you coming back to this practice. It’s a great addition to your cart when buying the Boka Ela Mint Toothpaste.

Cocofloss
Made from coconuts, this floss helps you get to the entire arc (up towards the roots) of each tooth. This is how thorough flossing is done. With sustainability in mind, Cocofloss is an aligned & effective option for the conscious consumer.

Best Nano Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste
Boka Ela Mint Natural Toothpaste Nano-Hydroxyapatite
Use Boka coupon code FEELMOREGOODER for 20% off
Boka’s toothpaste offerings are responsible for completely changing the trajectory of my oral health state. Before Boka, I was using non-fluoridated, natural options. However, I did not have an ingredient that catered to the remineralization of my teeth.
Furthermore, Boka Ela Mint Natural Toothpaste contains a natural fluoride alternative called nano-hydroxyapatite. Nano-hydroxyapatite is a modern evolution in dentistry. It’s been a gold standard in Japan for over 40-years. Safe if ingested. Safe for kids.
Boka toothpaste ingredients are clean, effective, and an easy (no-brainer) swap to replace your current generic toothpaste.

They are safe to swallow and increase teeth remineralization and nootropic absorption when you skip rinsing. Lastly, Karmicare recommends spitting, but not rinsing. To clarify, you would never want to do this with fluoride-containing oral care products.

This wildcrafted essential oil formula contains the purest, critical extracts and essences. Each oil in these formulas is mindfully selected for its individual and synergistic contribution to maintaining a happy mouth.
I use this product by applying a few drops to the tip of my tongue after brushing & tongue scraping. Then, I use my tongue to work the drops around my mouth. My mouth feels both fresh and protected after this step in my practice.

Essential Oxygen Brushing Rinse
Hydrogen peroxide + organic essential oils work to naturally whiten teeth, freshen breath & lift stagnant bacteria.
Moreover, adding a non-toxic rinse to your routine helps reach the extent of the surface area in your mouth. Essential Oxygen’s brushing rinse reaches into all of the nooks and crannies in your oral cavity. This helps to retain the health of your oral microbiome. While this product is intended to be used alongside a toothbrush, you can also use it as a mouth rinse.

Holistic Oral Care Options
Right now, I use Boka & Karmicare toothpastes primarily. However, I find myself liking the occasional mix up for variety and to get different healing ingredients into my oral cavity. Moreover, I get a really good clean from the Triple Mint Toothpaste from Living Libations. Something about that formula provides a clean that is one of the best I’ve ever felt.
Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
This salt (not white table salt – they are chemically different) helps to reduce bacteria, prevent build up of tartar & plaque, and also can help remineralize your tooth enamel. I like to make a mixture ahead of time. It’s about 5 heaping tablespoons of pink himalayan sea salt & 8 ounces of water. Treat it like a mouthwash or pre-brush swish; it can even help loosen/soften tartar & plaque.
Baking Soda
Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate provides alkalinity to the mouth, which helps eliminate tooth discoloration. Also, due to the mild abrasiveness, it removes plaque on the tooth’s surface.
What does your routine look like? Did you forget about/neglect oral health for several years like I did?😂
